چکیده
Abstract Feeding plant based (PB) nursery diets may aggravate the effects of disease in pigs, which be attenuated by functional amino acid (FAA) supplementation. The objective was to determine dietary protein source and FAA supplementation pigs subsequently challenged with Salmonella (ST). Thirty-two (8.7 ± 0.23 kg) were assigned 1 4 diet programs for wk post-weaning a 2 × factorial [PB vs. animal-based (AB)] basal (FAA–) or supplemented profile (FAA+; Thr, Met, Trp at 120% requirements). Pigs then placed onto common grower and, after 7-d adaptation period, inoculated ST (3.0 109 CFU/mL) monitored 7 d post-inoculation. Growth performance, fecal score, gut health, shedding, intestinal colonization translocation measured pre- Nursery score decreased AB-FAA+ compared other groups (0.42 0.68±0.06 score; P< 0.05) post-inoculation increased PB AB (1.12 0.95±0.15 0.05). Overall shedding (2.20 2.42±0.22 score), cecal (1.69 2.50±0.36 score) colonic (2.05 2.83±0.36 myeloperoxidase (1.92 2.65±0.37 µU/mL) reduced (P< Translocation spleen FAA+ FAA- (0.88 1.50±0.36 Post-inoculation, had greater weight gain PB-FAA- (0.72 0.52±0.07 kg/d; fed AB-FAA- feed intake (1.45 1.17±0.08 Gain:feed (0.54 0.44±0.05 kg/kg; more susceptible subsequent challenge, negative ST-challenged pigs.

Ileal amino acid digestibility and performance of growing pigs fed wheat-based diets supplemented with xylanase.
Two experiments were conducted to determine the effect of supplementation of xylanase to a wheat-based diet on the apparent ileal digestibility (AID) of AA and the performance of growing pigs fed diets limiting in AA. In Exp. 1, eight pigs (average initial BW = 20.5+/-1.2 kg) fitted with a simple T-cannula at the distal ileum, were fed four diets according to a repeated 4 x 4 Latin square desig...

An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of graded levels of β-glucanase supplementation to barley (Hordeum vulgare)-based diets on the digestibility of DM, GE, N, and AA for growing-finishing pigs. Eight pigs (initial BW: 53.3 ± 3.2 kg) were each fitted with a simple T-cannula at the distal ileum and allotted to a replicated 4 × 4 Latin square design with 4 diets and 4 periods in ea...

The study was conducted to determine the apparent ileal digestibility (AID) and standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of AA in egg from hens hyperimmunized with Escherichia coli K88 antigens (EGG) fed to weaned pigs. Spray dried porcine plasma (SDPP) was included for comparison. Eight barrows (Yorkshire-Landrace × Duroc; initial BW of 17 ± 1 kg) were fitted with a T-cannula at the distal ileum...

This study aimed at comparing two proteins sources on the performance of quail bred in Benin. Six groups of 45 quails from common breed, without sex discrimination, received diets containing either soybean meal (20 and 25%), fishmeal (20 and 25%), or their mixture (20 and 25%). The feeding period lasted six weeks. Quail weights were similar at the onset of experimentation but important variatio...
متن کاملNitrogen balance and ileal amino acid digestibility in growing pigs fed diets reduced in protein concentration.
Two studies were conducted to assess the effect of dietary protein reduction on N utilization, N excretion, and AA digestibility in growing pigs. The objective was to determine whether pigs fed diets with a reduced CP concentration could maintain the same N retention as pigs fed an adequate diet. The second objective was to test whether reducing dietary CP concentration decreases AA digestibili...
